OUTDOOR CLASSES: FEEL THE BREEZE! (BUT DON’T THROW CAUTION TO THE WIND)

There’s something very liberating about exercising outdoors—especially following a confining few months of being more or less housebound. We’re happy to see that so many of you have experienced that amazing feeling with The Corner Studio’s outdoor classes at Kerby Field. The renovated open-air venue is well appointed to host our fitness classes and, above all, conducive to safe social distancing practices in the age of COVID-19. “After so much time being isolated and separated from one another, we can finally safely gather and do something we all love,” says trainer Ally Ranville, who teaches Outdoor HIIT Strong Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

In case you missed it, The Corner Studio’s feature in the June 18 issue of Grosse Pointe News detailed our launch of outdoor classes and summer special offerings you don’t want to miss!

CDC guidelines and government mandates aside, everyone’s comfort level is different right now. As the state continues to re-open, we are doing our best to navigate the still uncertain climate and carefully provide services our clients are eager to resume. We have boosted our already high standards of cleanliness and continue to put health and safety first, for our trainers and clients alike. Whether you’re attending class outside, shopping our boutique, or enjoying a sauna session at the studio, we encourage you to be familiar with the following health and safety measures we are diligently enforcing:

· Employee Health Screenings. In order to work, trainers are required to undergo a temperature check upon arrival and complete a health screening questionnaire.

· Equipment. There is no shared equipment in class. Each client has their own station with necessary equipment for that class (i.e., mat, weights, step, towel). Clients are welcome to bring their own mat and towel if preferred.

· Cleanliness & sterilization. Trainers who pass required health screening are in charge of cleaning, setting up, and putting away equipment. They are first and last to touch equipment. All equipment is cleaned with sanitizing wipes and UVC LED Disinfection Wand after each class and stored in a locked room until the next class.

· Social distancing. Mats are arranged 6 feet apart in accordance with social distancing guidelines. Trainers will maintain 6 feet distance from clients when instructing class. We understand there is disparity among individual comfort levels, but as a sign of respect to those around you, we kindly ask that clients attending class abide by the 6-foot rule at all times.

· Retail shopping. While shopping during our designated retail hours, a mask is required. Unpurchased clothes that have been tried on will be held for 24 hours before being returned to the rack.

· Sauna sessions. Infrared Sauna is by appointment only and proper sanitization will occur between sessions. For now, sauna appointments are available for one person at a time, unless you are with an immediate family member.

Our outdoor classes are weather permitting. In the case of rain, class will be canceled and credit will be returned to the registered client’s account. We’ll do our best to post a free virtual class in its place whenever possible—always check our Instagram @thecornerstudiogp.

Download The Corner Studio app and book your classes at Kerby Field Monday–Friday mornings and sauna sessions by appointment. Check our website for sauna and retail hours!

Lastly, a friendly reminder: If you don’t feel well, please stay home.

We welcome your feedback on any of the above and thank you for your continued support!

See You at The Corner!
